Vivaldi’s Four Seasons with York Gin

Eboracum Baroque are delighted to return to their home city, York to perform in the majestic Mansion House in the centre of the city. They will perform one of the most famous pieces of baroque music ever written, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. The music takes the listener on a journey through the four seasons from the singing of birds in Spring, a fierce thunderstorm in summer, celebrating the harvest festival in Autumn and trembling in the icy cold of Winter.

They are excited to be collaborating with the York Gin who will provide delicious refreshments for the performance in the 18th Century State Room of the Mansion House.

This performance features the 18th century arrangement for Recorder, Harpsichord and Cello, an arrangement which Vivaldi knew and supported. It is truly virtuosic and at times features two recorders being played at once! It will be performed by star Recorder player, Miriam Monaghan.

Also in the concert hear Italian vocal music sung by baritone John Holland Avery and Trumpet music performed by Chris Parsons.
