We are passionate about inspiring the next generation of musicians and launched BaRocks! in December 2015. It is our aim to provide exciting and engaging education projects to involve as many children as possible across all age groups and abilities.
The projects are led by Chris Parsons and other musicians from the ensemble. They are joined by both singers and instrumentalists depending on the nature of the project.
Our work with the Horrible Histories author, Terry Deary has also helped in broadening our audience to include children. You can enjoy some of our work with Terry on our YouTube channel. We have worked with many festivals and music hubs across the UK to deliver projects based around Handel’s Water Music, Handel’s Fireworks Music and Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. We were delighted to work with the National Centre for Early Music on a virtual version of ‘The Story Orchestra: Four Seasons in One Day’ (Our Vivaldi education project) which was streamed into schools across the UK in March 2021.
In October 2022 we worked with CMAT Education Trust to deliver a Baroque Day to GCSE and A Level students focussing on a number of set works and introducing historical instruments.
