A Baroque Christmas

A festive programme of baroque music from across Europe, including Christmas music by J.S.Bach, Charpentier and Handel, in the appropriately baroque setting of Wimpole’s beautiful Chapel. From the pastoral recorder imitating the shepherds’ bagpipes as they hear the news of the new born King to the heralding trumpet and bass aria in Bach’s Christmas Oratorio ‘Großer Herr’, this promises to be a concert full of seasonal cheer, performed by young professional musicians on period instruments.
