Eboracum Baroque present a unique concert experience in St Mary’s Church, Ely featuring Handel’s Water Music in a joint project with musicians of Ely College and with support from The Ely Gin Company. Handel’s Water Music was originally written in 1717 and performed in a boat on the River Thames, a perfect piece to celebrate the beauty of the Fens! This performance will also feature the baritone, John Holland Avery who will perform some of Handel’s most famous arias from his operas and oratorios. Eboracum Baroque perform on period instruments from the time including the Baroque Trumpet and the Harpsichord. Musicians from Ely College will also be performing in the concert along with Eboracum Baroque and will provide interval music to accompany the wide array of exciting refreshments from local independent producers from exciting cocktails and mocktails from the Ely Gin Company and delicious treats from ‘George’s Bakery’
