Eboracum Baroque to receive Arts
Council Funding for Education Project

We have always been extremely passionate about providing interactive and exciting projects for children of all ages and we are delighted that we can continue to do this with a major project in East Cambridgeshire in May and June 2017.

We will be working with over 400 school children from both Primary and Secondary schools delivering workshops to schools and culminating in a big performance where a new vocal commission will be performed. This vocal commission will be based around the fens and the important waterways found across the area. This will tie in with a performance of Handel’s Water music from members of Eboracum Baroque and secondary school musicians who will work with the professional instrumentalists of Eboracum Baroque in workshops. It is a great opportunity for pupils to see and hear baroque instruments up close and learn more about Handel’s wonderful music! The big concert at the end will be introduced by the Horrible Histories author, Terry Deary in a specially prepared video.

Eboracum Baroque will also give a concert in the Isle of Ely Arts Festival on Thursday 22nd June which will feature Handel’s Water Music and some of Handel’s greatest arias. We will be working in collaboration with the fantastic Ely Gin Company to create a unique concert experience with gin tasting and cocktails. More details on this soon!

It is a great pleasure to work with the Isle of Ely Arts Festival on this exciting project. They have a great festival being planned for 2017!
